The Pearson Theatre
In pursuit of excellence in sound, John Meyer has spent a lifetime listening and conducting research to help understand what he hears. Meyer Sound has long been known not only for its technical and sonic leadership, but also as a dedicated resource for information and training that has played a key role in defining quality and professionalism in sound reinforcement and system design.
Now, Meyer Sound has created one of the world’s most versatile, unique, and natural-sounding theatre environments. The 57-seat, 1,500-square-foot Pearson Theatre (named for the late sound reinforcement pioneer, Don Pearson) was born out of John Meyer’s dream to create a space that could support Meyer Sound’s ever-expanding education program. As Meyer’s vision took shape, it became clear there was the potential to accomplish far more: a new vision for multipurpose venues. The goal was to create a venue that could support training seminars, provide an effective space for experimentation, and act as a real-world venue for screenings, musical events, demonstrations, and presentations without compromising the suitability of the theatre for any one application in order to achieve another. The Pearson Theatre is also Meyer Sound’s signature installation of Constellation electroacoustic architecture. The Pearson Theatre is the result of John Meyer’s unique perspective as an audio pioneer. With meticulous attention to every facet of design, from acoustical isolation and surface treatment to loudspeaker placement, the Pearson Theatre offers a sensory experience that, simply put, redefines the concept of what a theatre can be. |
