The Pearson Theatre is possibly the first venue to realize the full, multisensory impact of the cinematic experience. The complete THX-approved EXP system consisting of five Acheron Studio loudspeakers, eight HMS-10 surrounds, four X-800 subwoofers and two Galileo 616 delivers undistorted sound reproduction with extremely deep and powerful low frequencies. A cinema presentation in the Pearson Theatre is a somatic, all-encompassing event that is felt as much as it is heard.
The theatre is constructed as a "floating" room, essentially a separate structure mechanically isolated from its concrete shell by the strategic and
meticulous use of rubber.
The design of the seating riser and the fact that the theatre is floated mean that the lowest frequencies reach the listener
not only through the air, but also through the structure itself as well, adding a new and compelling physical component to the sound from the
room's large complement of subwoofers.
