At the 107th AES Convention held September 24-27 in New York City,
Meyer Sound will introduce its new L-Track
rigging system and UMS-1P
self-powered loudspeaker system. The new L-Track rigging system
comprises solid stainless steel tracks that run the full height of the
loudspeaker enclosure, top to bottom on each corner. This new system allows
arrays to be hung deeper without resorting to additional frames. The compact
UMS-1P
professional reinforcement subwoofer, the company's latest addition
to the Self-Powered UltraSeries, will extend bass response and
enhance performance in small-room systems, as well as provide low frequency
boost in larger rooms where size or weight restrictions preclude the use
of larger subwoofers. The UMS-1P
incorporates dual 10-inch drivers, proprietary control electronics and
a dual channel 400 W Class AB/H powered amplifier into a compact and relatively
lightweight design. Developed for an optimum frequency range between 25
Hz and 200Hz, the UMS-1P
is capable of sustained output levels in excess of 108dB SPL (127 dB peak).
In addition to the UMS-1P, Meyer Sound will also exhibit a wide selection of its self-powered loudspeaker systems including the SB-1 parabolic sound beam, the new DS-4P, a UPM-1P system in 5.1 surround sound and the PSW-6 cardiod subwoofer which was recently nominated for a 1999 Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Award. The 1999 TEC Award ceremony is scheduled to take place after the AES Convention on the evening of Saturday, September 25. While you're at the 107th AES Convention stop by either of Meyer Sound's two locations at either demo room 3D01 or booth 444 to listen to the latest in self-powered loudspeaker system technology or ask questions about Meyer Sound's list of professional audio products.
