with Meyer Sound
For most visitors to the Jazz Festival, this is the first
view they see: the front of the Centre de Congres as seen from across the Grand Rue.
The Centre contains all three of the main venues - the Stravinski Auditorium,
Miles Davis Hall and the Jazz Café, which all exclusively feature Meyer
Sound Self-Powered Loudspeaker Systems.
Taking a left in front of the Centre and walking around the
side, you can meet individuals from all over the world who have come to
listen to the eclectic gathering of jazz and other musical artists in the
superior sound clarity they have come to expect from Meyer Sound and the
Festival. In the distance is Lac Leman, the largest lake in Central Europe,
a beautiful backdrop for the Festival grounds situated all along the Quai
Edouard-Jaccoud and Quai de Rouvenaz.
Along the lakefront behind the Centre the grounds are full of
food, drink and merchandise booths. The vendors throw open their doors
around 10:00 a.m. and do not shut down until around 5:00 a.m. each morning -
perfect hours for all-night revelers stepping out from the Jazz Café and the
production personnel that eat at unaccommodating hours!

To the right of the Centre is the Montreux Jazz Café. Just like the paintings on the entryway, the Café is a wild and fun place with rhythms and beats powered by
Meyer Sound. Admission is limited, but free. So it is always packed with
people and open for non-stop dancing until dawn.

Just inside the Stravinski Auditorium, world-renowned artists such as R.E.M., B.B. King and Jonny Lang will be heard on a Meyer Sound system at the 33rd Montreux Jazz Festival. |

A point of interest across the street from the Centre de Congres is the chiffon-colored Montreux Palace. This Beaux Arts-style grand hotel is the largest in Montreux and the short-term home for many of the visiting artists at the Festival.
Continuing on behind the Centre and looking up, we see the
Terrasse Stravinski, one of two major outdoor venues on the Festival Off
Program. The music schedule begins early in the afternoon , so it is a
great place to duck the hot sun, cool off with a drink and hear some great
jazz tunes on Meyer Sound Self-Powered Loudspeaker Systems.
Here at the Terrasse Stravinski, one of two major outdoor venues, high school, college and community jazz ensembles from around the world gather at the Festival to perform. Since Meyer is based in Berkeley, California, we were happy to see that our own Berkeley High was on the roster just a few years back.
