Finding Just the Right Angle at Bushnell Auditorium

The challenge facing Sound Associates of New York as they designed a large Meyer sound system for Bushnell Auditorium in Hartford, Connecticut, was fitting the sound system unobtrusively but effectively in the hall. "It's a beautiful, old hall," says Domonic Sack of Sound Associates. "Obviously we didn't want to touch the walls and damage any of the artwork. And whatever system we installed had to reach the balcony and mezzanine. It's a long hall - about 150 feet from the stage to the last row of seats in the balcony. There are seats in the balcony and mezzanine that a conventional, single-tier central cluster would never reach." Read More »

They rechristened the ship the Westerdam. And, to provide a sound system for the new Broadway-style shows they planned to put on, they purchased a Meyer sound system from Miami Audio Visual Company (MAVCO). Read More »

Pope John Paul Shares His Message Using MSL-10s

In the New Testament, you can read about Jesus traveling around teaching to tens of thousands of people. It must have been a miracle indeed for his audiences in those days to understand him with no amplification. Today, with modern technology, the Pope can speak to tens of thousands of people at one time, and everyone can hear every word he says. During the Pope's recent tour of the United States, Meyer Sound's MSL-10 system was supplied at two of the largest venues, Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey and the Aqueduct Racetrack on Long Island.
