ABC-TV purchases HD-1 MonitorsABC-TV in New York recently upgraded its heavily used TV 7 Control Room with the purchase of five Meyer Sound HD-1 Near-Field Monitors and four Meyer Sound HD-2w Mid-Field Monitors. The TV 7 control room will be ABC's first fully digital control room. ABC chose the HD-1 Near-Field Monitor because it's an entirely self-contained, high-definition monitor system optimized to closely approximate a true point-source radiator. The monitor's vented cabinet houses an 8-inch cone low-frequency driver and a dome tweeter, which together provide a frequency response of 32 Hz to 22 kHz. The HD-2 Mid-Field Monitor features a 10-inch cone low-frequency driver and a patented, low-distortion, 1-inch dome high-frequency driver. The monitor offers a frequency response of 28 Hz to 21 kHz (-3 dB points), and a phase response of plus or minus 60 degrees from 60 Hz to 20 kHz. January, 1996 |
