Yuming Matsutoya Uses MSL-10s for High Energy Concerts

Matsutoya's Annual Tour visits Japan's largest arenas

Japanese pop star Yuming Matsutoya, who is known throughout the Pacific Basin for her energetic, high technology concerts, uses Meyer Sound's largest PA speaker, the MSL-10, to keep her concerts rocking. Yuming is one of Japan's busiest music stars, touring and performing every winter and spring, following the fall release of her recordings.

Yuming has used the MSL-10s and other Meyer speakers for her arena shows since 1988. The system is provided by Soundcraft of Japan in cooperation with ARTE. The system configuration changes to suit each venue but usually consists of upper and lower systems of MSL-10s as the primary PAs, DS-2 mid-bass speakers and 650-R2s for the lower frequencies. The VHF range is supplemented by the MST-1 Supertweeter array.

The MSL-10 system was chosen for its superior arrayability and its ability to tightly control coverage. The powerful MSL-10 is able to provide consistent high fidelity with powerful and reliable reinforcement for Yuming's typical 10,000 - 16,000 seat arenas.

In addition to Meyer's complete sound system, Yuming has traveled with the SIM System II since 1986. This is essential because each arena is configured differently and SIM allows consistent sound quality at each venue.

Yuming's energetic concerts are proof that it is possible to have full power rock and roll and extremely high fidelity at the same time.
