Antonio Monasterio of Santiago's Audiopro Limitada reports brisk pre-release sales of the UPA-1P, the Self-Powered version of the Meyer industry standard UPA. Part of the just released Self-Powered Ultra Series, the UPA-1Ps are being used by Chilean broadcasting companies to provide sound reinforcement for live television studio audiences.

Rental company Musica Moderna of Mexico City purchased 8 Self-Powered PSM-2 stage monitors. The monitors are a great success with their customers: after renting PSM-2s from Musica Moderna, Mexican singer, Pedro Fernandez, refuses to perform using any other stage monitor.

Musica Moderna of Mexico City increased their MSL-4 rental system. It now contains 60 MSL-4's and 32 650-P's. Owner Enrique Perez provides MSL-4's for touring performers and a variety of political and corporate events.
"Owning MSL-4's is an incredible business," reports Perez, "I originally thought 16 MSL-4's would be enough for my market, but the demand is so high for this product that I happily expanded my system to 60 boxes."

Meyer Sound Mexico reports success with Meyer's newest self-powered product, the HM-1; In addition to the 30 HM-1's installed in the Teatro Orfeon for the production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Luis Lojo SIM engineer tuned the system using SIM System II for OC and system alignment. Starlight Express just purchased a surround system of 24 of the small, powerful cabinets to compliment their main CQ-2 and PSW-2 clusters.

Ocesa's Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City recently received the installation of 12 MSL-4's, 6 PSW-2's, 8 650-P's, and 4 CQ-1's. The system was installed by Audio Concepto and Todo en Audio e Iluminacion, both of Mexico City. The system was aligned using Meyer's LD-1A's, CP-10's and SIM System II.

Audio Systems del Norte in Monterrey provided a huge Meyer system in conjunction with Pro Color of Guadalajara for the celebratory closing events of a successful mayoral campaign. The system contained 60 self-powered cabinets. Audio Systems continues adding to their self-powered stock, which now includes 20 MSL-4's, 12 650-P's, and 8 PSM-2's.

Several of Mexico's rental companies report large profits thanks to their MSL-4/650-P rigs. Guadalajara's newest sound rental company, Promesa Cinco, chose to purchase 10 MSL-4's, 4 650-P's, and 6 PSM-2's as the basis of their rental stock. They chose the Meyer line due to the popularity of the MSL-4.

Casino Monterrey recently installed a new Meyer system in their discotheque. The system was sold by Eduardo Magana of International Lighting of San Antonio and consists of four CQ-1's, two 650-P's, and one CP-10. Meyer Sound Mexico employee Antonio Zacarias optimized the installation using the SIM System II analyzer. He reports that not only does the system sound great, but the customers are thrilled with the quality service they received from Meyer Sound Mexico's staff.

Raul Abreu of Abreu Producciones, Mexico City, now has the largest self-powered system in the world with 188 self-powered cabinets. The system is being used primarily at rock events, the most recent being Iron Maiden's Latin American Tour.
