UK: BBC Proms in the Park
A Meyer Sound MSL-10A sound system with MSL-4 delays helped bring a British Institution to 30,000 outdoor revellers when the BBC relayed "The Last Night of the Proms" live from the nearby Royal Albert Hall to Hyde Park in London. Simon Biddulph and Tim Meyer of System Sound designed and set up the system which used 3 layers of MSL-4 delays to distribute the system to the rather noisey location under Concorde's flight path and right next to the 6-lane Park Lane. Autograph Sales Ltd. supplied their SIM System II to align the main system and delay rings. Early arrivals were treated to a live afternoon concert by the BBC Concert Orchestra, with popular artists like James Galway and Maria Ewing. The traditional Grande Finale including British favourites like "Jerusalem" and "Land of Hope and Glory" was accompanied live in the park by a Welsh Male Voice Choir who themselves were accompanied by an audience in fine voice and well equipped with soccer rattles, air-horns and whistles.
