AVRO Prinsengrachtconcert in Amsterdam

Hof Audio of the Netherlands recently provided a complete Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeaker system for the AVRO Prinsengrachtconcert in Amsterdam on August 21. The annual event, which is a part of the Amsterdam Grachtenfestival (canal festival) was organized by AVRO (one of Holland's national broadcasting companies) and was attended by a group of more than 20,000 visitors.

The system configuration throughout the canal and the quay consisted of 10 Meyer Sound MSL-4s, 8 UPA-1Ps, 10 650-Ps, 8 CQ-1s, and 2 UPM-1P self-powered loudspeaker systems.

"After doing the AVRO Prinsengrachtconcert for several years we gained a lot of experience in sound reinforcement for this special event," said Bart Hof of Hof Audio. This year's program featured several prominent Dutch personalities reciting poems written by Ivo de Wijs for Saint-Sans classical piece: Carnaval des animaux. We knew that the program was going to need clear and accurate speech reproduction and natural sound reinforcement as well. Afterwards, we received great responses from our client, the audience and the media in regards to the overall production and the premium sound quality."
