"The Theater is very tricky acoustically. The 200-year-old opera house features four floors with a variety of different surfaces. However, with the Meyer Sound system, the Theater sounds great. The vocals are very direct and up-front."

In its world premiere on October 2 the musical "Mozart" opened in Vienna's Theater an der Wien, located nearby Vienna's State Opera House.

The musical, produced by Michael Kunze (lyrics) and Sylvester Levay (music and arrangement), is based on the life story and musical talent of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Supplying the pro-audio for the production was Atec Audio Technology GmbH of Austria who provided a Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeaker system consisting of 14 UPM-1P's, 13 UPA-2P's, 4 USW-1P's, 6 UPA-1P's and 14 CP-10's. Designing the system for the more than 700-seat Theater was Tony Meola.

"The Theater is very tricky acoustically," said Meola. "The 200-year-old opera house features four floors with a variety of different surfaces. However, with the Meyer Sound system, the Theater sounds great. The vocals are very direct and up-front."

Erich Hofbauer of Atec Audio Technology GmbH said that the Theater an der Wien made its decision to use the complete Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeaker system based on its repeat successes using Meyer Sound pro audio equipment over the past 12 years.
