Queensland Cultural Centre Nominated for Achievement Award
The Australian Constructors Association (ACA) and the Institution of Engineers, Australia recently nominated The Queensland Cultural Centre for a 2000 Australian Construction Achievement Award. The Queensland Cultural Centre, which is a technically complex construction, featuring superb management, trade skill and design achievement, offers state-of-the-art theatrical technology, including a self-powered Meyer Sound loudspeaker system installed in the Centre's Optus Playhouse. The ACA's award honors Australia's best construction project which displays innovation in design and excellence in the management of quality, the environment, the community, health and safety, as well as time and cost-effectiveness. The award will be presented at a formal dinner to be held at Crown Towers, Melbourne on April 14, 2000.
