Hiroshima, Japan

ATL, Inc. of Japan recently announced the completion of the pro-audio installation at the Hiroshima Koryo High School. Included in the system configuration were two Meyer Sound MSL-4s, two UPA-1Ps, 2 UPM-1Ps and an LD-1A line driver.

"The MSL-4 [for long throw] and the UPA-1P [for near field] are used as the main speakers," said Shinji Matsuura, sound designer for Hokushin Elden. "When designing the sound system, careful consideration was taken into account so that the entire hall would have a uniform sound pressure level. After the installation was complete, the hall was measured using SIM.

"I was amazed when I heard the sound of the CD after the system was aligned. I was sitting in a rear seat, nearly 30 meters away from the speakers...the sound was extremely clear with high articulation. Reflected sound was almost imperceptive."

Satoru Kamitakahara, assistant vice-principal at Hiroshima Koryo High School also commented, "The distance between the stage and audience seats seems to have diminished, especially in the rear seats."

DongGuan, China

Golden Times disco and nightclub opened to rave reviews in the city of DongGuan, China. In attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new 4,500 square-meter facility was the city's Deputy Mayor, along with crowds of anticipating club-goers.

The nightclub's pro-audio system, designed and installed by Artco Music Co. Ltd., comprises more than 20 Meyer Sound loudspeakers installed in two distinct settings within the facility. Both PA systems, the disco & nightclub system and the bar system, were overseen by Artco Music Company's General Manager, Li Zhou Lin.

Also involved in the Golden Times' pro-audio system was Jolly Pro Audio Broadcast Engineering Co., who aligned both systems and served as the technical consultant for the project.

"Because Artco Music had successfully installed a number of entertainment complexes in China using Meyer Sound loudspeakers, the owner [Golden Times] had an opportunity to visit these complexes," said Andy Leung of Jolly Pro Audio Broadcast Engineering Co. "He loved the clarity and power of the Meyer systems."

Japan
According to ATL, Inc. of Japan the renowned composer and musician, Ryuichi Sakamoto, performed from December 21-25 at Tokyo's Ebisu Garden Hall. The Meyer Sound system, provided by Star Tech and ARTE, comprised 28 self-powered loudspeakers, including 8 UPA-1Ps, 4 PSW-2s, 4 CQ-2s and 4 UPM-1Ps in the system configuration, designed by Koji Moritani of ARTE.

"All the loudspeakers used for the concert, including stage monitors and front fill are self-powered speakers," said Hiroaki Tomioka of ATL, Inc.

Tomioka also commented that the stage was located in the center of the Ebisu Garden Hall, a feature which required the Meyer Sound system to meet the pro-audio needs of an in-the-round configuration.

China

Jolly ProAudio Broadcast Engineering Co. recently announced that the Shenzhen Future Time Square was host to more than ten-thousand attendees who showed up to usher in the new year at the Future Mix Party. The pro-audio system, supplied and setup by Artco Music Co., Ltd, featured a number of Meyer Sound MSL-4s, PSW-4s and MTS-4s.

"The owner, Mr. Fu, claimed that he never heard such a powerful loudspeaker system," said Andy Leung of ProAudio Broadcast Engineering Co. "The MTS-4 generates a very powerful low frequency punch. The MSL-4 and the PSW-4 are also a perfect match, with the MSL-4 providing the clear high frequency."

The event, organized by www.21cn.com and Lychee featured such regional talent as DJs Mickey Cheung (Ray, China), Amil Khan (Technasia, Japan), Charles Seiging (Techasia, France), Nee Bing (Ray, China), Kent Lee (Yes FM, China) and live performances from Kevin Jungle (Roland, China).

"After this event I will only use Meyer's loudspeakers for all of my future parties," said the event's producer, Michael Nee Bing.

Madras, India

Reynold Sound and Lighting Services of India recently announced that the launch of Ford Motor Company's new Icon car took place at the Taj Coromandel Hotel in Madras utilizing a host of Meyer Sound MSL-4s.

"The Meyer loudspeakers were certainly all they were said to be," said Viraf Pocha, a member of the production team for SHOBIZ. "...The loudspeakers filled the room with crisp sound. I have never heard the saxophone reproduced in such detail at these volumes. Everybody, including Mr. J. Nasse [senior executive at Ford Motor Company] stayed on the floor for hours."
