"Sound designers for Broadway shows use Meyer loudspeakers because they provide even coverage, and because of the way they reinforce sound on an actor with a lavaliere mic. Another way of saying this is that sound designers know exactly what they're getting with Meyer speakers. It's very important that amplified voice and vocals sound as natural as possible. And this is what the Meyer product delivers."

- David Shapiro,
Project Manager
PRG Audio Group

ProMix was founded in 1984 to support the growing Broadway touring market. Today, the company is one of the premier providers of sound systems and services for television and radio shows, tours, industrial applications, resident companies, special events, and permanent installations, as well as Broadway shows.

Recent ProMix projects include events such as: the Olympic Opening and Closing ceremonies, the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, the smash hit arena tours of Nickelodeon's Rugrats, plus corporate events for Lucent Technologies, IBM, and Calvin Klein. Recent renovation projects include: The New Amsterdam Theatre, The New Victory Theatre, and The Philadelphia Academy of Music.

1999 found eight ProMix shows on Broadway: Rent, Footloose, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Chicago, The Civil War, Miss Saigon, Annie Get Your Gun and The Lion King.

Last year, ProMix became the cornerstone company of PRG's Audio Group, and also opened a West Coast office to meet the unique requirements of the Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and the western markets.

"Sound designers for Broadway shows," says Project Manager, Industrials and Special Events, PRG Audio Group, David Shapiro, "use Meyer loudspeakers because they provide even coverage, and because of the way they reinforce sound on an actor with a lavaliere mic. Another way of saying this is that sound designers know exactly what they're getting with Meyer speakers. It's very important that amplified voice and vocals sound as natural as possible. And this is what the Meyer product delivers."

"For television, industrial applications, and special events, I can tell you in a word why I use Meyer loudspeakers: quality. Again, I know what I'm going to get with Meyer. I'm sure of getting the right box for the room. I use five self-powered Meyer UPA-1P's for the Audi trade show account because they sound great, and they're easy to set-up."
