Meyer UPM-2P Wins 2001 EDDY Award
NEW YORK (December 2001) The Meyer Sound UPM-2P Ultra Compact Narrow Coverage Loudspeaker has been selected by a panel of judges as one of the best five new products representing major technical advancement in the field of professional audio. The award was presented at the 10th Anniversary EDDY Awards ceremony, produced by Entertainment Design magazine, on the evening of December 7th. Meyer's North Eastern Sales Manager, Brian Coviello, accepted the award. Tim Chapman, Director of Marketing for Meyer, said, "It's an honor to receive such a prestigious award. It is especially satisfying when your work is recognized by industry professionals." The UPM-2P is ideally suited to applications requiring high sound pressure levels, extremely low distortion, and tight directional control. Stand alone, the UPM-2P will provide vocal range reinforcement as a small PA system and in under-balcony, front- or side-fill applications. A full-range system can be created with the addition of a separate optional subwoofer. Noted sound designer Tony Meola has incorporated the UPM-2P in several of his designs, including "Kiss Me Kate" (US National tour and London), "Sweet Smell of Success" (Shubert Theatre in Chicago) and "A Christmas Carol" (The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City). In selecting the UPM-2P, the judges had this to say: "It's small, but it sounds great and packs a punch. It's a great product because, as usual, Meyer did it right." December, 2001 |
