Meyer Sound Reinforces San Jose "Nutcracker"

"I believe there's nothing better [than Meyer Sound]. It's my personal choice."

- Richard "Woody" Woodard
Owner, Kari Productions

Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeakers take center stage at the Flint Center in Cupertino, CA for the Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley's production of the "Nutcracker". Richard "Woody" Woodard, of San Jose, CA-based Kari Productions, specified a center cluster of two MSL-4 Horn-Loaded Long Throw Loudspeakers, along with four UPA-1s for balcony coverage, for the perennial holiday ballet.

The 51-piece Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley Orchestra performs the score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky live. "The whole goal," related Woodard, "is to make it sound like it's coming from the orchestra pit. It's a challenge." To that end, Woodard enlisted the aid of Meyer Sound's John Monitto to align the system with the SIM System II FFT Analyzer. The MSL-4s are equipped with Veam multi-pin connectors and interfaced with the system via the VIM-4 Veam Source Module.

Woodard designed the system for the 2,433-seat theater and operates it during the "Nutcracker" performances, which run from Dec. 7th through 23rd. About his selection of Meyer products to use for the production, Woodard had this to say: "I believe there's nothing better. It's my personal choice."
