Meyer Sound Exhibits at Pro Audio & Light Asia
This summer (July 14-16), Meyer Sound, along with more than 350 international companies, exhibited in Singapore at the 13th annual Pro Audio and Light Asia. This show, summoning over 8,000 trade visitors from 44 countries, attracts exhibitors from the professional audio, AV, music, broadcast, networking solutions, multimedia, DJ and lighting industries. IIR Exhibitions chose to incorporate Total Events Asia 2001 into this year's PALA Show. This maneuver created a successful crossover of suppliers, rental companies, event producers, consultancy services, artists and performers, venue owners as well as costume and set designers with the various industry exhibitors. Meyer Sound Laboratories, Inc. held a prominent 6 meter by 8 meter position on the show's main floor near Quebec Leisure Pte. Ltd., their distributor in Singapore. Featured products in the booth were the MSL-4 (with VEAM all-in-one connector user panel), DS-4P and DF-4, all with L-Track rigging. In addition, the MP and UX amplifiers were displayed in modular form to show the inner workings of Meyer Sound's proprietary amplifiers. Also on display was the new UPM-2P with a symmetrical 45-degree horn. The UPM-2P is ideally suited to applications requiring high sound pressure levels, extremely low distortion and tight directional control. Eddy Vermeersch, the company's Asia-Pacific technical support director, was on site demonstrating Meyer Sound's RMS (Remote Monitoring System) software. With this tool, industry professionals were shown how they could immediately monitor the condition of up to sixty-two loudspeakers in aspects such as amplifier voltage, power output, temperature, fan and driver operation and limiting activity. A key attraction was Meyer Sound's flown M3D Line Array with BroadbandQ. Meyer Sound has revolutionized the line array technology with unparalleled sonic excellence and directional control. Mounted on custom caster rails, an M3D and M3D-Subwoofer were displayed minus their grilles to effectively illustrate how the use of front- and rear-mounted drivers, control electronics, the REM (Ribbon Emulation Manifold) and a Constant-Q horn creates a controlled horizontal coverage pattern throughout the full audio spectrum. Meyer Sound will next exhibit at AES, NY on Sept. 21-24 and at LDI, Orlando on Nov. 2-4.
