Meyer M3D Line Array System Help Spread Message of Slovakian Unity
On July 8, 2001, a group of more than 200,000 gathered in the center of Bratislava in the Slovak Republic to celebrate the "Day of Three Sons." With the historic Slovak National Theater as a backdrop, President Rudolf Schuster addressed the crowd in Hviezdoslav Square through a Meyer Sound M3D Self-Powered Line Array loudspeaker system, provided by Duchonka s.r.o., in an event produced by Oksa Productions. The "Day of the Three Sons" holiday recalls the story of the Slovak prince Svätopluk who demonstrated the power of unity to his three sons by presenting them each with a wooden staff. The staves could be broken by themselves, but when bound together, were unbreakable. In addition to symbolizing national unity, the day also commemorated the anniversary of a unity agreement signed by the three branches of the Slovakian government in 1999. Duchonka has owned Meyer Sound loudspeakers for over three years, and recently purchased its first M3Ds. Jaromir Oksa, owner of both companies, chose the M3Ds because of their excellent sound and ease of rigging. "The sound of the M3D system is fantastic. At this event, we received many compliments on the clarity of sound from the technical teams of the Slovak National TV and Radio stations. And the system was easier to put up than any other loudspeakers we have used in the square." The production values of the event were so high that everyone noticed them. The smooth coverage in the square warranted a mention on the air. "The quality of sound was mentioned by the journalists during the television broadcast," Oksa remarked. The Office of the President even issued a commendation to Duchonka s.r.o., as well as Oksa Productions and Meyer Sound for the professional quality of the sound system at the inauguration. Included in the system configuration were six Meyer Sound M3Ds , twenty-four MSL-4s, and twelve 650-P subwoofers. September, 2001 |
