Nominees for the 17th annual Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Awards have recently been announced, and Meyer Sound's X-10 Linear Control Room Monitor has been nominated for the 2001 TEC Award in the category of Outstanding Technical Achievement for Studio Monitor Technology.

Established in 1985, the TEC Awards honor outstanding achievement in the professional recording and sound production industry. A panel composed of 200 audio industry professionals makes the nominations, and qualified Mix subscribers vote for the awards winners with a ballot bound in the August, 2001 issue of the magazine.

Meyer Sound has won TEC Awards for two years running, with its PSW-6 cardioid subwoofer in 1999 and its UPM-1P in 2000. Winners of the 2001 TEC Awards will be announced at a special ceremony to be held at the Marriott Marquis in New York City on Saturday, September 22, the second night of the 111th AES Convention.
