Cafe Quijano Tours Spain with Meyer Sound M2D System
The tour consists of more than 100 concerts across Spain, at venues ranging from theatres to soccer stadiums and including a large number of bullrings, which present a real challenge when the goal is great sound. The Meyer Sound system proved to be more than capable of handling all that was asked of it, and excellent results have been reported at every venue. For the larger concerts, a system of 20 M2Ds are being used, 10 each side of the stage, with three M3D-Sub Directional subwoofers per side, four MSL-4 Horn-Loaded Long-Throw loudspeakers as side fills and two UPA-1P Compact Wide Coverage loudspeakers as front fills. The systems are set up at each location using Meyer Sound's SIM System II FFT Analyzer, and the audio signals are controlled and distributed via an LD-1A line driver. "Café Quijano is one of the first bands to tour with the M2D in Spain, and the tour has been a great showcase for the product's versatility and ease of use," says Rafa Jiménez of Meyer Sound Spain. Chicharro, the tour's mixing engineer, was familiar with Meyer Sound, having previously toured with MSL-4 rigs. He is very satisfied with the response and power-to-size ratio of the system, and with the fact it is so easy to fly. "This is the best sounding system I have used so far," he says. "It sounds like a top-end hi-fi system but has the power of a big PA." October, 2002 |
