Juan Carlos Yepes Appointed Latin American Regional Sales Manager

Meyer Sound Laboratories today announced the appointment of Juan Carlos Yepes as sales manager for Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Yepes is an industry veteran, having worked in professional audio for 17 years, including being front-of-house mixer for Grammy-winning artist Carlos Vives since 1994, and a stint in sales at Abba Trading Corp. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The move is intended to emphasize the significance Meyer Sound ascribes to the Latin American market.

A native of Maracaibo, Venezuela, Yepes will be handling sales of Meyer Sound products, facilitating product demonstrations, and providing design assistance and technical support throughout the Latin American region from his office in Weston, Fla.

Yepes will work to increase Meyer Sound's presence in Latin America, which he feels has yet to gain a full understanding of the company's approach. "I believe that Latin America needs to be brought to a point where the consumers in those countries are aware not only of Meyer Sound's products, but of the science and philosophy behind them. I want to do educational seminars to inform people as to why Meyer Sound is their best choice," he explains.

Helen Meyer, Meyer Sound's executive vice president, was enthusiastic about the appointment. "We have been pleased to have Juan Carlos work with our Latin American distribution for the last seven years. We feel that Latin America is very important to Meyer Sound, enough so that we decided we should focus greater attention on the area, and Juan Carlos was the obvious choice to bring that focus."

Yepes will work in conjunction with Antonio Zacarias of Meyer Sound Mexico, sales director for Latin America.
