Meyer Sound Marks Major Milestones at AES Convention

Meyer Sound has much to show and tell as the 117th Audio Engineering Society convention returns to the San Francisco Bay Area on October 28-31. As the company heads toward the finish of its 25th year as the premier manufacturer of professional sound reinforcement loudspeakers, Meyer Sound brings to booth 1514 at the convention a year of record sales of its self-powered loudspeaker systems, a string of awards and the successful release of three new products.

The Meyer Sound booth will illustrate the breadth of the company's line of self-powered loudspeakers and tools for supporting them. Loudspeaker products on exhibit will include the MILO high-power curvilinear array loudspeaker, MILO 120 expanded coverage high-power curvilinear array loudspeaker, M1D ultra-compact curvilinear array loudspeaker, 700-HP ultrahigh-power subwoofer, M1D-Sub ultra-compact subwoofer, award-winning UPJ-1P compact VariO loudspeaker, UPM-1P ultra-compact wide coverage loudspeaker, and MM-4 miniature wide-range loudspeaker. Many of these will be flown with Meyer Sound's QuickFly rigging, recipient of two patents. Also on display will be an example of custom finishes available as an option on Meyer Sound products.

In addition to making efficient, accurate, reliable loudspeakers. Meyer Sound makes a variety of products intended to facilitate getting the best results from loudspeakers in actual use. Electronics on display at AES will be LD-2 and LD-3 line drivers and the CP-10 complementary phase equalizer, As well, Meyer Sound MAPP Online acoustical prediction software (patent pending) and the SIM 3 audio analyzer system (with optional microphone and line switchers) will be available for attendees to check out.

Other displays on the Meyer Sound booth will focus on the Berkeley factory, the four TEC awards received by the company to date, and installations and tours featuring Meyer Sound products.

With its long commitment to education, Meyer Sound has always maintained involvement in a variety of informational opportunities at trade shows. Presentations will be given each day on the Meyer Sound booth, and the company is also involved with several AES special events.

On October 27th, before the start of the show, Meyer Sound co-sponsors Surround Live II! More Surround, a full day AES symposium and demonstration of the use of surround sound in live applications held at a site near the convention. AES attendees can get a close look at how Meyer Sound loudspeakers are built during a Technical Tour the company will host at its Berkeley factory on October 29th, and those with an ear to the future will want to consider attending the October 31st demonstration of multichannel DSD streaming. (Find details on all of these activities below or at www.aes.org.)
