Meyer Sound UPJ-1P Makes the Scene in London Club

“I was delighted that everything was completed in time for the opening night, and I absolutely love the sound.”

David Catlin,
Owner
Hackney Central

Hackney Central, London's latest hotspot, chose the Meyer Sound UPJ-1P compact VariO loudspeaker to fill the former train station with music. Autograph Sales provided the club, which is also a bar and restaurant, with ten of the new UPJ-1P cabinets following the product’s successful launch at PLASA 2003, where pre-orders of more than 50 units were placed.

The site of the former Hackney Central Station received a massive refurbishment to turn it into one of the trendiest new venues in one of the world’s great cities for clubbing.

In addition to the pristine fidelity for which Meyer Sound products are known, the UPJ-1P combines the advantages of self-powered systems with the placement and arraying flexibility afforded by a horn that can rotate.

The UPJ-1P is suitable for use either singly as a primary loudspeaker, or in multi-cabinet horizontal or vertical arrays. To provide the needed low-frequency punch, Autograph also supplied Meyer Sound UMS-1P and USW-1P subwoofers for the venue.

The club is the latest to be opened by management company Drinking Fish. Owner David Catlin commented “I was delighted that everything was completed in time for the opening night, and I absolutely love the sound.”
