Meyer Sound Featured at Nigerian Trade Fair
Meyer Sound is making a strong statement in the sound hire and installation markets in West Africa by co-sponsoring a booth at the upcoming 2004 Lagos International Trade Fair in Lagos, Nigeria. The annual exposition, scheduled for November 5th through 14th, will be held at the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex in Nigeria's commercial capital. The Lagos Trade Fair draws more attendees than any other event of its type in Africa. Meyer Sound's presence is made possible through the coordination and logistical support of its distributor in Nigeria, GQ Acoustics + Sound, Ltd., a leading regional installation and hire company based in Lagos. "Our hope is to institute Meyer Sound as a major brand name, not only in Nigeria but also throughout the West African sub-region, where Nigeria is the dominant trading influence," says Peter Iriah, GQ's managing director. On Booth # 229, Block 4 in the Electronics section of the exhibits, GQ will present visitors with an overview of the entire Meyer Sound line of self-powered loudspeakers and the wide variety of applications to which they are suited. Attendees will also gain information regarding Meyer Sound's comprehensive approach to sound system design and optimization using tools like Meyer Sound MAPP Online acoustical prediction software and the SIM 3 audio analyzer system. A particular marketing focus of GQ's fair presence, as well as for a series of follow-up seminars, will be the burgeoning worship market in the region. "We plan to use this exhibition as a main thrust into the church market, which is currently experiencing phenomenal growth with a wave of expansions and new construction," Iriah notes. "Many churches here have a capacity of 15, 000 to 20,000, which means there are excellent opportunities for very substantial Meyer Sound installations in Nigeria." Established in 1985, GQ Acoustics + Sound is a diversified technology firm offering design and engineering services for professional lighting and sound, architectural acoustics, and home/office automation systems. The 2004 Lagos International Trade Fair, organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, covers all aspects of business and economic activities in Nigeria and the West African Region. Participants and exhibitors include a broad range of businesses, governmental agencies, and non-governmental organizations and institutions, with both domestic and international suppliers and manufacturers represented. With a population of over 100 million, Nigeria represents the largest national market in Africa. October, 2004 |
