Founded in 1991 as a rental, sales, and installation company for audio and lighting systems, Mediatec GmbH (Bonn, Germany) grew in 1994 into two companies: mediatec (focusing on sales, installation, and engineering), and MediaRent. Together, both companies employee a total of 12, plus three trainees.

Mediatec manager, Dirk Hagemann, explains his company's business principles: "Basically it is our intention to achieve the customer's complete satisfaction. We are happy only when the customer is happy...We specify what is best for the customer and the customer's installation."

mediatec's fixed installation projects range from very modestly sized systems (a conference room with two loudspeakers) to venues seating two or three thousand people. "In some instances," says Hagemann, "we are asked for special solutions, perhaps to complete an existing system, or we are asked to combine different systems... For audio processing, we like working with BSS Systems (Soundweb, Omnidrive). They make a perfect fit with the self-powered loudspeakers from Meyer Sound."

"For control applications, we use Crestron Media Control systems. For installation design, we use a CAD System running AutoCad 14. Racks, patchpanels, and crosspoint systems are designed according to the special needs of the customer and are assembled at our company. We try to do as much work as possible inside our company in order to save work time on-site. Sometimes, if it is possible, we will build an entire system - such as a complete control room for a venue - and test on our premises. For alignment of completed systems, we use SIM System II.

"We are convinced that Meyer loudspeakers offer very good value to our customers where the fit is right between their needs and what Meyer systems offer. Demonstrating this value to the customer is the essence of our sales effort... At first look, Meyer equipment seems more expensive than other loudspeakers. But, in the proper situation, this is not really the case, and we can easily show the customer why this is so. The saving on space for amp rooms, wiring, and the equipment's proven reliability are the primary ways we demonstrate the value of Meyer systems to our customers..."
