Meyer Sound Selects Apex Acoustics as First Dealer in Scotland
Apex Acoustics of Dundee has been one of Scotland’s leading sound hire companies since it was established in 1985. In recent years the firm has expanded its role as a dealer for leading professional audio manufacturers (including Shure, Sennheiser, and Neumann microphones) leading to Apex’s selection in 2004 as Scotland’s first authorized dealer for Meyer Sound’s full line of self-powered loudspeaker systems. “It’s a great opportunity for us,” says Paul Smith, the company’s managing director for the past ten years. “Meyer Sound is a fantastic company and their speakers are second to none.” Apex has used Meyer Sound in their sound hire business for nearly fifteen years, and currently holds Scotland’s largest inventory of Meyer Sound products. Most recently, Apex has added M2D compact curvilinear array and UPJ-1P compact VariO™ loudspeakers to their inventory. Known throughout Scotland as a leading authority on wireless (radio) microphones, Apex Acoustics has served the needs of theatre companies throughout the region, including major productions in Dundee, Perth, and the renowned Edinburgh Festival, but the company’s diverse client base also includes governmental institutions, media groups, and corporations. Smith expects the new association with Meyer Sound to further expand his company’s role in sales and installations to the degree that he anticipates adding a staff person to the existing three employees to focus on Meyer Sound sales. “I’ve already secured the sale of an M1D system into a concert hall, and I’d like to see the Meyer products going into clubs as well,” he proposes. Smith expects his personal commitment to the product line will expand Meyer Sound sales into segments of the professional sound market well beyond the Scottish theatre community that has embraced the company’s products for years. “We know that when Meyer Sound brings out a product, they’ve thought it through and thoroughly researched it,” he notes. “When we have that confidence, we pass it along to customers, knowing that they will be equally pleased with the results.” Apex Acoustics Sound Services Ltd
