Moonlighting Brings Meyer Sound to the Emerald Isle
Moonlighting Sound of Dromore, County Down, has been selected as the first authorized dealer for Meyer Sound on the Emerald Isle – an auspicious opportunity on this island renowned for a rich heritage in both music and drama. Headquartered in Ulster (Northern Ireland) near Belfast, Moonlighting also offers diversified sound and performance lighting services throughout the larger Republic of Ireland to the south. Brothers Brian and Terry O’Neill founded Moonlighting Sound in 1985, and the firm has grown to its current ten employees. On the hire side, the company provides lighting and sound products and services for concerts, theatrical performances, special events, and nightclubs. (The company is official sound supplier to the Ulster Orchestra.) The balance of the company’s business is permanent installation of lighting and sound systems in performance and entertainment venues, civic buildings, and houses of worship. “We were sold on the Meyer product after hearing it in concerts given by Professor Karlheinz Stockhausen,” says Terry O’Neill. “Later, we did some protracted sound product comparisons for a project at the Church of God in Belfast. We were very impressed, and specified the Meyer product. When complete, this will be one of the largest Meyer Sound installations in Ireland.” Terry expects his company will soon be adding a complement of Meyer Sound speakers to the company’s rental inventory, and more installation projects are anticipated as well. “We look forward to a long a prosperous relationship with Meyer Sound in Ireland,” he says.
