Go Media Evolves from Local Provider to Major Player on Both Coasts

"The Meyer Sound gear is compact, lightweight and efficient, and it's sonically head and shoulders above anything else out there."

- Doug Olson
Vice President, Go Media

Starting out in 1990 from humble beginnings as a small, Rochester, N.Y., sound company, Go Media Productions found a niche in the upstate New York market servicing small and mid-sized corporate events. Over time, the company has evolved from a local provider into a major player on both coasts.

Go Media's growth began when it recognized its success in the corporate market as an opportunity to fill a need and added lights and full production support to its sound inventory, making it into a full-service provider. One of the company's key decisions in moving up to the next level was the addition of a substantial complement of products from Meyer Sound. Within two short years Go Media opened a second office in Las Vegas, started servicing trade shows and added a number of larger corporate clients to their resumé.

"Sound reinforcement has always been a major part of our business, and when we began to expand into the trade show market we knew immediately that Meyer Sound was the way to go," explains Go Media Vice President Doug Olson. "The Meyer Sound gear is compact, lightweight and efficient, and it's sonically head and shoulders above anything else out there."

Wanting to stay with those same qualities in a line array system, Go Media purchased a system of 16 M2D compact curvilinear array loudspeakers, with LD-3 compensating line drivers. The M2D array joins the company's existing Meyer Sound inventory, which includes 650-P high-power subwoofers, MSL-4 horn-loaded long-throw loudspeakers, UPA-1P compact wide coverage loudspeakers, UPM-1P ultracompact wide coverage loudspeakers and USM-1P extended range narrow coverage stage monitors. Emphasizing their need to maintain versatility, Go Media also added additional UPM-1P cabinets to their stock.

"Our Meyer Sound inventory has been a major part of the events we do, from trade shows like NAB, COMDEX, InfoComm, WCES and SEMA to live sound reinforcement for bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddies to corporate events for clients like Mary Kay Cosmetics, Kodak, Northrop Grumman and Xerox," Olson remarks. "We're looking forward to expanding our inventory with even more Meyer Sound products. We know we're already in good company with others who use their gear."
