Meyer Sound Offers Array of Attractions at Expo Sound:Check
Two recently introduced self-powered loudspeakers will share the spotlight: the MJF-212 high-power stage monitor (named in honor of the Montreux Jazz Festival), and the M'elodie ultracompact high-power curvilinear array loudspeaker, which has received worldwide acclaim for its astonishing power-to-size ratio. ![]() MJF-212 Self-Powered Stage Monitor Attendees will be able to hear these products for themselves, when Meyer Sound presents full-scale, concert-style system demonstrations on March 21 every two hours from noon to 8 PM in Salón Olmeca IV. Through special demo recordings and live music by recording artist Benny, the power and clarity of M'elodie arrays will be demonstrated along with the new MJF-212 stage monitors, driven by a Galileo loudspeaker management system. Once an original member of legendary boy-band Timbiriche, Benny has produced eight solo albums and recently signed with EMI Music Group for his forthcoming album. In addition to new loudspeaker products, a key attraction at the Meyer Sound booth will be the LCS Series Matrix3 audio show control system. Complete with SpaceMap multichannel panning software and Wild Tracks hard disk playback, Matrix3 now provides even greater power and flexibility in controlling complex and dynamic audio effects in theatrical presentations such as Cirque du Soleil®'s The Beatles&trade LOVE&trade, and in the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Las Vegas. ![]() M'elodie High-Power Curvilinear Array Loudspeaker But Meyer Sound's contributions to professional audio go beyond products to empowering end-users through education, with several feature presentations in the expo's education program. On March 19 at 4 PM, Meyer Sound Consulting Engineer John Pellowe, a GRAMMY® Award-winning classical and live sound engineer, will present "Electroacoustic Architecture: A New Approach to Live Sound in Closed Spaces," followed at 6 PM by world-renowned Senior Technical Seminar Instructor Mauricio "Magú" Ramírez's "Basics of Sound System Engineering." On March 20 at 2:30 PM, legendary live sound mixer and Meyer Sound Tour Liaison Manager Buford Jones will share his expertise in a presentation entitled "The Art of Live Sound Mixing." Jones's extensive list of FOH mixing credits includes such luminaries as Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, James Taylor, and ZZ Top. All three presentations will be held in the Salón Palenque. This year's Expo Sound:Check marks the 10th anniversary since Meyer Sound Mexico's founding in 1997. Since the show began in 2003, Meyer Sound has exhibited at every Expo Sound:Check. This reflects the company's long-standing commitment to providing audio professionals in Mexico and the rest of Latin America with innovative technology, first-class training, and extensive customer support.
