Meyer Sound has announced that industry veteran Miguel Lourtie has joined the company's European Technical Services group. Lourtie will be providing technical support and design services to customers within the European community. He will also be an instructor in Meyer Sound's growing education program, using his multilingual capabilities to reach industry professionals in their native languages including Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian (as well as English). Lourtie's appointment is a reflection of Meyer Sound's growing presence in both rental and installations within Europe, and the company's commitment to providing not only excellent products but also a wide range of accessible technical services and knowledge to the audio industry. Lourtie has been affiliated with Meyer Sound over the entire course of his career in sound reinforcement, starting in 1993, when he first worked for a Meyer Sound distributor in Europe, and then as a Meyer Sound certified SIM engineer. In 1997, Lourtie founded Lourisom, an audio consulting and distribution business in Portugal, which distributed Meyer Sound products in the country. "Miguel's long relationship with Meyer Sound as both a contractor and a distributor has given him an intimate familiarity with the company's products and their use, and also with our philosophies and ways of supporting our customers," says Luke Jenks, Meyer Sound's director of European Technical Services. "He is an accomplished instructor, system designer, and system technician, and we are very happy to have him on our team."
