Company Profile: Eventech Excels as Well-Rounded Audio Provider in Baltic Region
Nestled on the shores of the Baltic Sea, across from Finland and north of Latvia, lies the nation of Estonia, where artists like Andrea Bocelli, Metallica and Placebo have performed for thousands of fans. Providing sound equipment for these high-profile events was Meyer Sound Distributor Eventech, a professional sound and lighting company located in the Estonian capital of Talinn. Formed in 2001, Eventech is managed by Tonu Susi and has enjoyed a steady stream of high-profile business, including installations and rentals for large-scale music festivals, tours and corporate AV events for companies such as Absolut Vodka and BMW. Originally established through the merging of two former competitors, Eventech resides in an 800-square-meter warehouse with 20 employees, including nine highly trained audio specialists who make massive events like the Estonian Nationwide Song and Dance Celebration possible. For this year's festival, Eventech utilized Meyer Sound MILO line array loudspeakers and M'elodie line array loudspeakers to deliver the sound of 22,000 vocalists to a staggering audience of 80,000. In addition to Meyer Sound MILO and M'elodie cabinets, available rental stock includes MILO 120s, 700-HP subwoofers and the Galileo loudspeaker management system. Eventech also relies on Meyer Sound's MAPP Online Pro acoustical prediction program to handle specific room designs. Of all the Meyer Sound products, Susi is especially fond of the M'elodie loudspeakers. "M'elodie is small, yet very powerful, and the sound is clear and warm," Susi says. "It is very useful in small venues, and sounds great for theatrical performances and classical music." As a result of the M'elodie cabinet's versatility and Susi's affinity for its performance, Eventech plans to increase its stock of M'elodie loudspeakers in the coming year. Besides running its thriving rental division, Eventech also handles installations including a new system in Salme Kultuurikeskus, a multipurpose performance hall in Tallinn, Estonia. Eventech has developed successful relationships with its customers by providing intelligible and powerful sound for any type of event. To that end, Susi is convinced that the innovative design of Meyer Sound products play an important role. "Meyer Sound systems always sound great," he declares. "And with the QuickFly rigging system, it's very easy to hang a PA. You can just roll in, hang the system, and it works. Every time." March, 2008 |
