A&V Company Energizes NEXTEL Experience Exhibit at NASCAR Cup Series with Meyer Sound Self-Powered UPA-1P

"With other speaker manufacturers, you have to do a lot of EQ and other junk. With Meyer, it sounds good when you first turn it on. It makes everything easy."

- Devin Smith
Senior Coordinator, A&V Company

Outside each raceway of the NASCAR Cup Series, the NEXTEL Experience exhibit provided non-stop action and information for the speed fanatics. Equipped with large flat-panel screens displaying classic racing highlights, the elaborate 10,000-square foot kiosk also hosted live interviews with drivers, crew chiefs and other racing experts while pumping music between segments.

For the unusual entertainment display, Greensboro, NC-based A&V Company's Head of Installation, Jimmy Cannon and Senior Coordinator, Devin Smith provided a Meyer Sound system comprised of four UPA-1P loudspeakers covering the kiosk and the nearby open area.

"With the UPA," says Smith, "we were able to evenly blanket the area we were shooting at while preventing sound from bleeding into other kiosks or the tracks."

Judging by the audience's response, Smith believes the Meyer Sound system made a positive impact on the kiosk traffic. "We even had people from the other kiosks come over to check out our gear and tell us how amazing our system sounded."

The self-powered feature and the exceptional sound quality of Meyer Sound loudspeakers have drastically simplified the audio crew's work on the tour, and are both key reasons that the company continues to use Meyer Sound equipment. "A&V Company is an all Meyer house and it's all we keep in the inventory," says Smith. "With other speaker manufacturers, you have to do a lot of EQ and other junk. With Meyer, it sounds good when you first turn it on. It makes everything easy."
