"I am very excited to become a part of the company whose products I've depended upon for so many years. I hope to work closely with both new users and strong advocates of Meyer Sound systems on their exciting projects, and will bring to Meyer Sound the same energy and dedication I have brought to my work in the theatre industry."

- Tom Cavnar
Digital Products Support and Service Specialist, Meyer Sound

Meyer Sound has added Tom Cavnar to the company's expanding technical support team as Digital Products Support and Service Specialist. In his new role, Cavnar will assist customers in the use of Meyer Sound's award-winning digital products, including applications of the Matrix3 audio show control system and the Galileo loudspeaker management system.

Cavnar comes to the position after spending more than a decade working in sound design and audio technology for live theatre productions, including three years with the Matrix3 system at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, Calif. While with South Coast Rep, he took part in sound design, programming and operations for more than 20 major theatrical productions.

Cavnar is the latest addition to Meyer Sound's large support force worldwide, which has recently announced its 24-hour technical support phone line to ensure expert assistance is readily accessible to customers. "Tom's familiarity with Meyer Sound's digital technology overall is only one aspect of what he brings to the position," says John Monitto, Meyer Sound's director of technical support. "More importantly, his experience in modern theatrical sound design has given him a unique perspective on what our customers face on a day-to-day basis in this high-pressure environment, enabling him to assist users in taking full advantage of Meyer Sound's technologies. We're pleased to welcome him to the Meyer Sound family."

With a BA in design and technical theatre from Western Michigan University and an MFA in theatre sound design from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Cavnar eagerly looks forward to joining the Meyer Sound family. "I am very excited to become a part of the company whose products I've depended upon for so many years," Cavnar adds. "I hope to work closely with both new users and strong advocates of Meyer Sound systems on their exciting projects, and will bring to Meyer Sound the same energy and dedication I have brought to my work in the theatre industry."

Cavnar is based at Meyer Sound's headquarters in Berkeley, Calif., and can be reached at +1 510 486 1166 or via email at tomc@meyersound.com.
