"I believe our success in the use of high-quality and flexible technology to support our weekend services and ministry events is a direct result of us understanding our mission, the DNA, of who we are and what we want to achieve as a church. Tools like the Constellation system allow us to 'shine' and ultimately provide the ministries we support the ability to touch the lives of thousands of people."

- Daryl Cripe
Technical Director, Grace Community Church

Grace Community Church, which features the second church installation of Meyer Sound's Constellation electroacoustic architecture, took the spotlight at this year's Worship Facilities Conference & Expo (WFX) with four Solomon Awards. Meyer Sound's JM-1P arrayable loudspeaker and UP-4XP loudspeaker were acknowledged with the WFX New Product Awards, in the categories of Large-Format and Small-Format Loudspeakers respectively.

Located in Indianapolis, Ind., Grace Community Church has been recognized in the categories of Best Church Design: New Project, 801-2000 Seats and Best Technical Production Team, while Best Technical Director has been awarded to the church's Daryl Cripe and Best Facility Manager to Dave Wagner. Grace Community Church uses Constellation to encourage congregant participation and foster a feeling of connectedness, while the flexibility of the sanctuary's acoustics allows the church to host diverse presentations and events.

"I believe our success in the use of high-quality and flexible technology to support our weekend services and ministry events is a direct result of us understanding our mission, the DNA, of who we are and what we want to achieve as a church," says Cripe. "Tools like the Constellation system allow us to 'shine' and ultimately provide the ministries we support the ability to touch the lives of thousands of people."

Both announced in 2009, the Meyer Sound JM-1P arrayable loudspeaker and UP-4XP ultracompact loudspeakers were recognized as exciting new products designed for utmost versatility in installation and portable applications. The UP-4XP is ideally suited for projects requiring a small, inconspicuous cabinet that also delivers high sound pressure levels, low distortion, and uniform directional control. The Elgar Room at London's Royal Albert Hall features one of the first installations of the UP-4XP.

Since its debut at the Spokane Symphony's public concerts in September, the JM-1P arrayble loudspeaker's ease of use and flexibility have caught the attention of theatre sound designers and event rental companies around the world. By applying the latest technology to point source system, the JM-1P provides a consistent polar response and precise pattern control in tight-packed horizontal and vertical arrays. Optimized for easy setup and rigging, JM-1P arrays are a perfect complement to line array systems in larger spaces. With its powerful output, the JM-1P can easily serve as a main system in small- to medium-size venues.
