April 26-28, 2009
Booth 7D20
Meyer Sound will celebrate its 30th anniversary at PALME in Dubai (April 26 – 28, 2009) with a full slate of new product introductions including the breakthrough D-Mitri digital audio platform, and new loudspeakers targeting the unique requirements of the high-end cinema, commercial sound, and live sound production markets.

New Products
A primary highlight at the stand (7D20) will be D-Mitri, Meyer Sound's new Gigabit network-based multichannel digital audio processing and distribution platform with seamlessly integrated show control. D-Mitri employs high-resolution audio (96 kHz sampling with 24-bit conversion and up to 64-bit floating point processing) in a true networked environment to deliver enormous processing power, exceptional system configuration flexibility, and enhanced user control.

Also on exhibit will be Meyer Sound's new Cinema Experience series of loudspeakers, which redefine the sonic quality for applications ranging from sound design to dubbing to exhibition, while providing a smooth translation across the various venues. The Cinema Experience lineup comprises four new self-powered loudspeakers designed to complement ultra-high resolution digital projection:

• Acheron 80 and 100 screen channel loudspeakers
• Acheron LF bass loudspeaker
• HMS-10 cinema surround loudspeaker
• X-800C high-power cinema subwoofer

The new, externally powered UP-4XP ultracompact loudspeaker, an inconspicuous cabinet with high sound pressure levels, will be unveiled, along with the MM-10 miniature subwoofer and MM-4XPD directional miniature self-powered loudspeaker which will open new possibilities for creating unobtrusive high-performance systems. Weighing only 33 pounds, the MM-10 subwoofer nevertheless produces 123 dB peak SPL from 40 Hz to 200 Hz. The four-inch-square MM-4XPD offers the exceptional performance standards equivalent to the successful MM-4XP, but with a directional hypercardioid pattern ideally suited for high-quality distributed systems in highly reverberant spaces.

Finally, the 500-HP subwoofer will be shown on the booth, featuring dual 12-inch drivers and 1800 W of peak power amplification with dimensions well suited to be rigged directly to the M'elodie line array loudspeakers in both flown and groundstacked configurations. Rounding out the booth displays will be the MILO family of line array loudspeakers, as well as workstations for hands-on experience with the MAPP Online Pro acoustical prediction program and the Galileo loudspeaker management, controlled by the Compass control software. Meyer Sound's knowledgeable staff will be on hand to talk about other new innovations from the company, including the JM-1P arrayable loudspeaker, designed to integrate seamlessly in tightly packed array clusters and provide exceptional directional control

Note: Meyer Sound's "Cinema Experience" line of products has been renamed to "EXP" in Dec, 2010.
