Meet the New JM-1P Arrayable Loudspeaker at the Meyer Sound Stand at PLASA 2009
| ||||
The new JM-1P arrayable loudspeaker will be the prime focus when Meyer Sound returns to PLASA in London on September 13-16. Also shown on the stand will be the new UP-4XP ultracompact loudspeaker, which is powered by a remote 48V power supply and ideally suited for installations as well as portable applications. The self-powered JM-1P arrayable loudspeaker system provides precise horizontal control in a seamless, tight-packed array, while exhibiting an impressive power output of 138 dB max peak SPL at one meter. The JM-1P's consistent polar response and trapezoidal enclosure allows for tight-packed arrays with each JM-1P cabinet adding 20 degrees to the horizontal coverage of the array, with minimal overlap in high frequencies. An array of three JM-1P loudspeakers provides 60 degrees horizontal coverage; an array of four JM-1P loudspeakers provides 80 degrees of horizontal coverage, and so on. For sound designers working with highly reverberant or oddly shaped spaces, the JM-1P can accurately tailor the horizontal coverage to fit a room with a smooth response maintained throughout the venue, while avoiding echoes or excessive reverberation. The JM-1P features captive, easy-to-use QuickFly rigging, and can be flown in both vertical and horizontal configurations. System designers and event rental companies will find that the JM-1P is an ideal solution to a variety of audio design challenges. With the flexibility to serve as a main system, centerfill and sidefill in large-scale sound systems, in addition to its sonic quality, rigging options, and reliability, the JM-1P's remarkable usability is a defining characteristic of this new Meyer Sound technology, providing all-around benefits in every job and on every tour.
