When Sound:Check Xpo returns to the World Trade Center Mexico City on March 8-10 2009, Meyer Sound will exhibit an array of leading-edge audio solutions as heard on sold-out tours, the magical spectacles of Cirque du Soleil®, as well as installed in the world's top-ranked venues such as the 9,590-seat Auditorio Nacional. Meyer Sound instructor Oscar Barrientos will also demonstrate using phase and frequency to achieve uniform sound coverage at an AES seminar entitled "Phase Equalizers (selective frequency delay)" on Tuesday March 10.

Two Meyer Sound products will make their first appearance at Sound:Check Xpo this year, the 500-HP subwoofer and the UPQ-2P loudspeaker. With cabinet width identical to the immensely popular M'elodie line array loudspeaker, the 500-HP subwoofer can be flown with M'elodie cabinets to form an aesthetically-pleasing array. The compact yet exceptionally powerful UPQ-2P narrow coverage loudspeaker packs a peak output of 136 dB SPL, and offers flexible rigging options to accommodate a range of installation requirements.

Meyer Sound Mexico has distributed Meyer Sound's award-winning audio products in Latin America since 1997 and was recently appointed the distributor of DiGiCo consoles for Mexico. "Meyer Sound Mexico has realized that many of our customers are also looking to complete their systems with a high-quality console, and in response to this, we have added the distribution of DiGiCo consoles in Mexico," says Antonio Zacarias, head of Meyer Sound Mexico. "At the upcoming Sound:Check, we're showing DiGiCo products for the first time, along with a range of Meyer Sound audio solutions that impress attendees and draw a large crowd to our booth every year. This is all part of our goal to provide complete sound solutions to our customers."

The presence of Meyer Sound equipment in the Latin American region has steadily grown since Meyer Sound Mexico was established 12 years ago. Meyer Sound systems can be heard at Guatemala's Fraternidad Cristiana de Guatemala, the largest Christian church in Latin America, as well as at various venues of the award-winning Xcaret theme park. And with its recent purchase of 60 MILO line array loudspeakers, Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City now has the largest MILO loudspeaker system owned by any auditorium or theatre in the world.

Meyer Sound's worldwide education program has deep roots in Mexico; presentations are regularly hosted in the area on topics such as mixing, loudspeaker performance analysis, and fundamentals of system design.
