The New York Times Reviews Sting's Cathedral Concert with Meyer Sound M'elodie

When Sting sings, people listen. One such person was New York Times writer, Jon Pareles, who reviewed Sting's concert at New York's Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, and heard the difference a Meyer Sound M'elodie system can make. Or, in his words:

"The cathedral was the right place for this concert, imposing a hushed attention. Somehow the sound system conquered the room's notorious reverberation, perhaps by keeping the volume low; instrumental nuances came through. So did a decidedly eccentric Christmas spirit: well traveled, erudite, confident and, in the end, deeply haunted."

Designed by Randy Hansen of ADI Group and provided by Sound Associates, the Meyer Sound system featured left and right arrays of M'elodie line array loudspeakers, as well as M1D line array loudspeakers as frontfills, UPJ-1P VariO, MSL-4, and CQ-2 loudspeakers. The temporary system worked seamlessly with the new, permanently installed CQ-2 delay system in the nave. A Galileo loudspeaker management system with two Galileo 616 processors handled system drive for the entire sound system.
