Meyer Sound has announced the appointment of Ellen Juhlin as D-Mitri project manager to oversee the development of the D-Mitri digital audio platform, the company's first product to integrate the emerging Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) standard.

"D-Mitri is an evolution in Meyer Sound's approach to signal processing, compiling what we've learnt from building the Matrix3, Constellation, and integrating AVB open networking protocol to create an extremely powerful and flexible tool for sound designers," says John McMahon, Meyer Sound's executive director, digital products, "Ellen's technical knowledge in all of these areas and her management skills make her uniquely qualified to lead the effort in bringing D-Mitri online."

In her new position, Juhlin will manage all processes leading up to the full availability of D-Mitri in June 2010, including working closely with Meyer Sound developers and designers on product milestones, customer feature requests, and prototype evaluation and testing. Juhlin will also collaborate on D-Mitri marketing collateral, technical documentation, and product training.

Trained as a theatrical sound designer, Juhlin's previous responsibilities at Meyer Sound spanned from Matrix3 technical support and Constellation system design to the implementation of D-Mitri in recent pilot projects. Juhlin has also taken an active role in participating in proceedings of IEEE and AVnu Alliance, of which Meyer Sound is an active member.

"Meyer Sound has invested significantly in the development of D-Mitri over the past several years, and it's been very exciting to watch it evolve," says Juhlin. "My past experiences as a sound designer and as digital products analyst have helped prepare me for this opportunity. I'm very excited to be taking on this new role."

Ellen Juhlin is based at Meyer Sound's headquarters in Berkeley, Calif., and can be reached at elj@meyersound.com.
