Meyer Sound has recently joined The Linux Foundation, a nonprofit consortium dedicated to developing and standardizing the Linux platform. Partnering with an impressive membership that includes Adobe, Siemens, Intel, Marvell, Google, and Cisco, Meyer Sound will expand its participation in embedded Linux activities and continue its support for the open source community. "Embedded Linux doesn't just mean mobile phones. Linux is used in an increasing variety of devices, and Meyer Sound is one of the original examples of this," says Amanda McPherson, vice president of marketing and developer programs at The Linux Foundation. (Source: www.linuxfoundation.org) "Meyer Sound has long understood the value of Linux, and we're happy to welcome them as a new member." Meyer Sound currently uses embedded Linux in the development of the D-Mitri digital audio platform and Galileo loudspeaker management system allowing for a lightweight, powerful, stable, and customizable development platform.
