More than 928,000 European car enthusiasts flocked to the 2011 IAA International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany to experience first-hand the automotive technology of the future. At the vast exhibit stand for Audi, dazzling multimedia presentations were supported by Meyer Sound's D-Mitri digital audio platform and loudspeakers. "The D-Mitri system fully satisfied our expectations for implementing the complex audio design," states Niko Hocke, technical design director for Berlin-based NIYU media projects Hocke & Hofmann GbR. "D-Mitri was at the heart of control and processing for all areas of the massive stand, and could have handled even more. It is an excellent audio platform." The primary reinforcement system for Audi's presentation areas was anchored by 14 M'elodie line array loudspeakers with added support from two 600-HP subwoofers, 34 UltraSeries self-powered loudspeakers, three USW-1P subwoofers, and 15 MM-4 miniature loudspeakers. Rounding out the systems were additional MM-4 loudspeakers in the Teknikpark, UM-1P stage monitors at the DJ stand, and a Galileo loudspeaker management systems with two Galileo 616 processors for local sub-system optimization. Held September 15-25 under the theme, "Future Comes as Standard," IAA is organized by the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA), with the annual shows alternating between passenger and commercial vehicles.
