Meyer is introducing three new products in their best-selling Self-Powered Series™ during the Fall of '97. The SB-1 and MSL-6 are intended for large-scale sound reinforcement, while the HM-1S Studio is designed for studio monitoring applications. All are available for purchase today, but were officially launched at the PLASA show in London, England, September 7-10, and at the 103rd AES Convention in New York City, September 26-29.

The MSL-6 and SB-1 are both large loudspeaker systems intended for long-throw sound reinforcement. The MSL-6 is built into Meyer's modular, trapezoidal cabinet and intended for tightly-packed arrays, while the SB-1 is the world's first parabolic dish-based loudspeaker system.

The HM-1S Studio was developed in response to the market's demand for an aesthetic "studio" look for its HM-1 loudspeaker launched last Spring at NSCA in North Carolina. The HM-1S Studio has the same technical specifications as the earlier version, but features a more professional, polished cabinet, and stylized power and signal input connectors. This new addition to Meyer's Studio Series follows in the footsteps of the highly-popular HD-1 Near-Field, High-Definition Monitor.

Following are more details about the products. If you want to hear how sound companies are already integrating them into their rigs, check out the story of the SB-1 at the Osaka Dome, and the MSL-6s with the Promise Keepers.
