Meyer Sound Application Profile : Carpenter's Home Church
 |
We invited four major loudspeaker
companies in for an evaluation. We told the companies that they
could bring
in a system of their choice tailored to meet the church's needs.
We supplied them all with the specifications of the venue and
allowed each company a half-day to setup. Next, we conducted
a vocal intelligibility test from an audio CD and requested the
staff to write down exactly what it was they thought they heard:
dog, frog, log, etc. The decision was unanimous. The clarity
of the Meyer System was amazing compared to the competition. - Stephen

Carpenter's Home Church |
Carpenter's Home Church is a non-denominational house
of worship in Lakeland, Florida. The church's 10,000-seat worship center
auditorium hosts regular Sunday services (usually featuring large contemporary
music ensembles) as well as conferences, concerts and drama presentations.
This broad spectrum of uses, combined with the large interior volume
of the auditorium, calls for a full-bandwidth audio system with high
power reserves, excellent intelligibility and precise pattern control.
The church's new system consists of three clusters configured from Meyer
Sound self-powered components. The mirror-image Left and Right
clusters each comprise three MSL-4s, three DS-4Ps, and two CQ-2s for
down fill. Six widely splayed CQ-1s, stacked three over three, form the
Center cluster. The Meyer self-powered system, provided by Blackhawk
Audio, was selected after a comprehensive on-site evaluation of demonstration
systems from four major suppliers. The listening sessions included objective "blind" intelligibility
tests as well as subjective evaluations of live and recorded music program.
"People
have approached me about the sound quality, and told me they are hearing
more detail in the performances
on the new
Meyer system than they ever did on the previous one, says Stephen
Brown, Associate Pastor and Production Director.
