Meyer Sound Application Profile : Goddess Nightclub

Goddess is an exotic luxury nightclub catering to the upscale "in crowd" of Miami Beach. Sumptuous art from Africa and the East sets a tone of sensual delight throughout the five-room, 6,000 square-foot club, while self-powered audio systems from Meyer Sound excite crowds of up to 500 clubgoers with clean, powerful reproduction of dance music.

System Description:

The main level dance floor employs four UPA-2Ps, one in each corner, with deep bass power provided by a pair of 650-P dual 18" self-powered reinforcement subwoofers. The main VIP room system comprises four UPA-1P plus four of the smaller (2x15") USW-1P self-powered ultraseries subwoofers. At the back of the main level, a smaller VIP room features four UPM-1Ps supplemented by a single USW-1P. Upstairs, a separate DJ booth and head end drives the two additional systems: the VIP room with four UPM-1Ps and a USW-1P, and the upstairs lounge with four UPM-1P self-powered ultraseries operating full range.

The Goddess system was designed and specified by Bill Lally, with equipment and installation services provided by Hi-Tech Sound of Marlboro, Massachusetts. Lally said he specified the Meyer Sound systems primarily on the basis of sound quality, but he was also pleasantly surprised to find that the controlled directivity of the Meyer cabinets maintained excellent acoustic isolation, preventing annoying bleed across audio zones playing different music programs. Current music source is primarily vinyl LPs in stereo, but Lally notes that the self-powered systems would make future changeover to surround sound playback a quick and easy proposition.
