Meyer Sound Application Profile : InPlanets Music Club
System Description:The In Planets Music Club occupies the fifth floor of a large, multi-use building in a shopping and entertainment district of Jakarta, Indonesia. The modernistic decor follows an interplanetary theme and visual effects include a giant meteor that swoops down from the ceiling as part of a computer-programmed laser light show. The massive pro-audio system for In Planets was designed by club sound consultant David Dennison of San Francisco. With 50 self-powered Concert Series loudspeakers, the In Planets' system sets new benchmarks for both sheer power and uncompromising sound quality in a part of the world where high-SPL systems are a familiar part of a highly competitive nightclub scene. The system is arrayed in an LCR configuration, with left and right clusters each configured from [SIX] MSL-6 and two DS-2P self-powered loudspeaker systems and 12 650-P self-powered reinforcement subwoofers. The center cluster employs two MSL-6s and four DS-2Ps. Source for the system is both live bands and prerecorded dance music as played by house DJs. Since opening in March of 2000, In Planets has been drawing capacity crowds. Management attributes much of the club's quick success to the "buzz" circulating on the club circuit about the awesome impact of the Meyer system.
