Visual clean up of the Virtual SIM window.

Version Release 2.5.07 - Code Date: December 20, 2005

Virtual SIM® has a new look and now features a virtual single output channel Galileo Composite EQ™ which includes TruShaping and Parametric equalizers as well as High and Low Pass Filters. The Frequency Response Window now has four view options: Room (uncorrected response), Processor (equalizer), Result (corrected response), and Group (uncorrected, corrected, and equalizer). The Room view shows the original response of the speaker in the space. The Processor view shows the current live eq curve which can be inverted. The Result view shows the response of the speaker system. The Group view shows the response of the speaker system and equalizer combined. The Live Branch Selector is used to select the desired processor output to apply equalization.
NOTE: Band Spectrum will not show a result if you have applied Composite EQ filters.

PSW-2 has been added to the individual as well as the Loudspeaker System array builder.

Version Release 2.1.58 - Code Date: May 20, 2005

MICA was added to the list of Loudspeakers as well as the MG-MICA Top grid.
NOTE: Changing any single MICA to use an extended position will decrease the number of MICA's within a single loudspeaker system. Remember that for every single extended link used, you must add one MICA to the array.

MVC-5 was added as a single element in the Loudspeaker System builder. It will not be available in the legacy Individual Loudspeaker window.

Added support for MG-2D ground stacking

The Delete Confirmation Dialog Box was removed.
NOTE: If you accidentally Delete an object, use the "Undo" command to restore it. Remember that is currently only one step! If you select elsewhere it represents a new event and the undo buffer is cleared.

Light Gray was added to the list of background colors.

MILO 60 vertical data was added to the Loudspeaker System model list.

The HTML output has been made compliant with XHTML 1.0.

The existing "Branch" labels in Loudspeaker and Loudspeaker System were all changed to "Processor Output" to be compliant with SIM3 Version 1.6.

The "Branch" Label was removed from Microphone Properties.
(This will be implemented on a future release.)

Version 2.1 HISTORY:

  1. Dialog and Visual Enhancements
    • The Microphone Dialog has been reformatted to be consistent with the Loudspeaker Dialog.
    • The Sound Field annotation table has been reformatted to be consistent with the Virtual SIM annotation table.
  2. Menu Names
    • MAPP Online Pro has a few changes in the application menus.
    • Every session is now labeled as a "Project" hence "Save" is now labeled as "Save Project."
    • Exporting to a graphic file is now done via "Export Graphics" in the "File" menu.
    • Save As Web Page has been removed. Saving as an HTML format is found under the "Tools" Menu called: "Reports." The "Save As Web Page" HTML file has been defined as a "Project Report" instead of a general "Web Page." The "Loudspeaker System Report" creates an HTML file of a single Loudspeaker System configuration.
  3. Processor Output Labels
    • Processor Output Labeling has been added to all Loudspeaker and Loudspeaker System dialogs so that each speaker element can be designated to a corresponding area of interest.
  4. Reports (Formerly "Save As Web Page")
    • There are two choices for reports. One is the "Project" report and the other is the "Loudspeaker System" report. The project report will output the same as the previous command "Save Web Page As."
    • The Loudspeaker System Report will output only the parameters of the Loudspeaker System. Each Loudspeaker System must be pre-selected to generate a report. The format is native HTML and can be opened into other programs that support HTML formatting for additional customization.
  5. Additional M-Series Rigging Models.
    • MG-1D (extended M1D and M1D-SUB) (M2D Support is not yet available)
    • MTG-1D (retracted M1D and M1D-SUB)
    • MG-2D (BRP 1,2,3 at the center hole position)
  6. Array Geometry
    • Array Height and Array Depth has been added to the Loudspeaker System Window as well as the Project Report.
  7. Virtual SIM behavior
    • The Virtual SIM window is now open on startup and retains the behavior from the original MAPP Online version 1.3 This allows users to predict microphone locations without having to first predict a sound field.

UPDATES SINCE MAPP ONLINE 1.3.004q

  1. Using "ZIP" files
    • Now when you save your MAPP Project in a ZIP format containing both the XML and DXF format, it will also save the Distance Units, Angle Units and the Geometry Extents. You will no longer have to verify your geometry extents once you have saved it in this new version. It will also save the size of the prediction plane or if you are using the drawing limits of the DXF file.
  2. Multi-Level Visual Aid
    • This was a feature that came about from our discussions with system engineers. This tool allows you to enter data from a RangeFinder-Inclinometer position to assist in creating visual aids more quickly. It is very useful for creating virtual balconies or upper concourse levels for vertical predictions.
  3. MAPP Online Nomenclature
    • A few menu item names have been updated since version 2.0.07: EDIT WALLS is now PREDICTION PLANE. WALL 1 (2,3,4) are now SURFACE 1 (2,3,4). INSERT ARRAY WITH RIGGING LOAD is now INSERT LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM. IMAGE PREFERENCES is now SPL PALETTE and was moved to the VIEW pull-down menu. MEASUREMENT UNITS has been moved to the VIEW pull-down menu.
  4. Project Properties
    • In the FILE pull-down menu is the item: Project Properties. This allows the USER to enter a Project name, Venue, Designer, Date, and Comments. When saved to HTML, this will be at the top of the first page above the Sound Field. This will also post the Version of MAPP used to generate the file.
