TROUBLESHOOTING: GALILEO 408 STATIC IP ADDRESS NOT FOUNDHow to reset the network settings using the Galileo 408 front panelOctober 20, 2011When a Galileo 408 cannot be detected by the Compass control software using a Static IP address, it is possible that an error was made entering the Static IP address in the Network Settings window. The best solution is to connect the Galileo 408 and Compass workstation to a DHCP enabled server using a network switch. This will ensure that the Galileo and Compass workstation receive valid network addresses. Press and hold down mute buttons for channels 4, 7 and 8 as you power up and release them when the power light turns from amber color to green. As an alternate solution, it is possible to connect the Galileo 408 directly to your DHCP enabled computer running the Compass software. Galileo uses Zero configuration networking which automatically creates a usable Internet Protocol network without special configuration servers. Numeric network addresses are assigned to Galileo and to the Compass workstation from the reserved 169.254.0.0-169.254.255.255 block for Automatic Private IP Addressing. From the Compass control software, go to the Galileos device tab and click on the "Find Galileos" button, the Galileo 408 should be discovered with a IPv4 network address. Connect to that Galileo 408 again and go to Settings > Network > Edit Network Settings to review your Static IP settings. |
