Uploading Firmware Online Instructions
Firmware and Software version numbers must match for proper device operation.
Be sure to upload the firmware using the version 2.4.0 software. Galileo Firmware is included in each of the download links listed below.

If you are using Mac OS X, extract the archive which should create a folder with the same name as the archive. Drag the Compass 2.4.0 folder to your /Macintosh HD/Applications folder.

If you are using Windows XP SP3 or Vista Business, launch the installer program and follow the instructions.

NOTE: Your Galileo and client computer each must be configured with either using DHCP or using a static IP address before running Compass. For instructions on how to configure Galileo 616 network settings please refer to Galileo Quick Start Guide or view the network Connection Procedures.

Running Compass with Galileo using a static IP address.
1. Launch Compass.
2. Go to the Galileos Tab.
3. Select Find Galileos. This searches for Galileos on the network or manually add a known Galileo server IP address.
4. Select the desired Galileo server and press Connect.
5. The connected Galileo tab appears at the top of the window.

Running Compass with a Virtual Galileo
1. Launch Compass.
2. Go to the Galileos Tab.
3. Select Add Galileo > Type in any IP address (i.e. 1.2.3.4 or 127.0.0.0)
4. Type in a Nickname for the Galileo (This must be unique to control multiple units.)
5. Type in a Tab Name for the Galileo or press OK to accept the default name.
6. Press Demo to view virtual meters.
7. Press Use Virtual and the device tab will show a VIRTUAL indicator above the tab name.

Running the Front Panel Emulator
1. Launch the VirtualGalileo application.
2. Launch Front Panel Emulator application.

Installing Firmware Version 2.4.0
In order for the update to be complete, you must install the firmware.
