TruPower Limiting
"Maximum Performance, Maximum Protection"
TruPower limiting from Meyer Sound protects loudspeaker components
without compromising system performance. The TruPower system is the
first
limiting technology that accurately measures power dissipation inside
a loudspeaker, limiting power only when absolutely necessary, allowing
the loudspeaker to deliver maximum dynamic volume, safely and consistently.
Other limiter technologies use only voltage calculations to establish
a fixed threshold for limiting loudspeaker power--a threshold that assumes
that loudspeaker impedances are constant over frequency and voice coil
temperature. TruPower monitors the true power consumption of the loudspeaker,
incorporating the real time impedance of the speaker into its power calculation.
The result is an extremely accurate estimation of voice coil temperature,
affording greater long term protection, while eliminating excess compression.
"Like Adding Cabinets to Your System"
How much of a difference can TruPower make in a sound system? When
Meyer Sound recently upgraded the system in a New York club, the sound
crew
assumed that additional loudspeakers had been added to the system — they
didn't know any other way to explain the boost in overall system performance.
By limiting power selectively and intelligently, TruPower technology
enables systems to sound their best — and their most powerful — at all
times.

Upgrade Easily to TruPower
It's easy to add TruPower circuitry to older self-powered series loudspeakers.
The upgrade can be performed in the field by any qualified technician.
Additionally, Meyer Sound has produced a 35-minute video describing the
operation and maintenance of self-powered Concert Series loudspeakers.
The video, and accompanying written procedures, provide technicians with
all the information they need to upgrade loudspeakers in the field.
