A compact, self-powered subwoofer system, the UMS-1P provides powerful low-frequency extension in applications where excellent audio quality and small size are critical considerations. Designed principally as a companion for the UPM-1P reinforcement loudspeaker, the UMS-1P is equally adaptable to the HD-1 and UPA-1P and UPA-2P. The UMS-1P’s bass reflex cabinet houses dual 10-inch drivers, active signal processing and a two-channel power amplifier with total burst power of 400 watts. The UMS-1P’s amplifier employs Meyer Sound’s proven complementary output MOSFET design, with separate amplifier channels dedicated to each driver. Driver protection limiting and AC transient suppression on the power supply ensure system reliability, while dual locking PowerCon connectors facilitate AC looping. The UMS-1P's output is conservatively rated at 127 dB peak within its operating range of 25 to 200 Hz. The UMS-1P can be fed a full-range signal, allowing for simple daisy-chain signal distribution and often eliminating the need for external crossovers. With the addition of an optional network module, the UMS-1P may be integrated into Meyer Sound’s RMS remote monitoring system, a Windows-based computer application for monitoring the full range of amplifier and driver operating parameters. UMS-SM Single Mount Version The UMS-SM subwoofer is a version of the UMS-1P subwoofer with threaded end plates for single-mount configurations with the UMS-SM U-bracket. The UMS-SM end plates are factory-installed (with the U-bracket) and not available as an upgrade option for the UMS-1P. The UMS-SM retains the same acoustical and electrical characteristics of the UMS-1P.
